Zirconia sanding discs 150 mm hook and loop
150 mm zirconia sanding discs with hook and loop and a sturdy cotton backing. The sharp, tough zirconia grit keeps cutting for a long time and is made for heavy work: removing old lacquer, oil and paint, sanding wood flat and removing unevenness. Grit 40 to 120 has the Kiwi special design with dust holes for a better sanding finish; grit 24 and 36 have no holes, for the coarsest work. Fits sanding machines with a 150 mm hook and loop backing pad, such as the Bona Flexisand, the Kiwi Floor 400 and 150 mm edge sanders.

Which grit?
Coarse, 24 to 60: removing old layers and sanding flat.
Medium, 80 and 100: intermediate sanding.
Fine, 120: final sanding before oil, lacquer or wax.

Why zirconia?
Zirconia grain is sharp, tough and aggressive and keeps cutting for a long time. Strong for coarse work and intermediate sanding, with a keen price-quality ratio. For a longer service life and a clean sanding finish there is also ceramic.
Which grit should I choose?
Coarse (24 to 60) for removing old layers and levelling, medium (80 and 100) for intermediate sanding and fine (120) for the finish. Do not skip more than one grit step when moving up. More in our sanding advice.
